Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has indicated that Grand Theft Auto VI will likely be priced around 70 to 80 dollars, giving fans an early idea of what to expect for one of the most anticipated games. He shared the detail during an interview while discussing monetization and ads in games.

Zelnick also made it clear that GTA VI will not include intrusive in game ads. He said it would not feel right to charge players full price and then show advertising inside the game.

The pricing has triggered mixed reactions among fans.

Some players say the price feels fair, especially for a large scale game like GTA VI that could offer many hours of gameplay. Others believe it reflects rising costs in the gaming industry and worry that it could push more companies to increase prices.

For comparison, GTA V launched at about 60 dollars in 2013. The expected price for GTA VI represents a noticeable increase, though some players argue that games have always been expensive when adjusted for inflation.

Online discussions show a split opinion. Some fans say the game could offer strong value based on content and playtime, while others are concerned that an 80 dollar price could become the new standard for future titles.

The update adds to growing expectations around GTA VI, which is already seen as one of the biggest releases in gaming.
