Two new styles are coming to optical retailers on April 14, with AI features that track nutrition, summarize WhatsApp chats, and let you reply to messages by writing on any surface.

Meta announced on Tuesday that it is launching two new Ray-Ban smart glasses designed specifically for people who wear prescriptions all day. The company says the new frames support nearly all prescriptions and are the most comfortable Ray-Ban Meta glasses it has ever made. They go on sale April 14 at optical retailers in the United States and select international markets, starting at $499.

The two new styles are called Blayzer and Scriber. Blayzer is a rectangular frame available in Standard and Large sizes. Scriber has a more rounded look. Both are built with flexible overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and temple tips that can be adjusted by an optician for a personalized fit. Meta is branding them as Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics Gen 2 and Ray-Ban Scriber Optics Gen 2.

Meta is also expanding its glasses lineup with new colors and lens options. Ray-Ban Meta frames are getting Transitions lens options across the Skyler, Headliner, and Wayfarer styles. Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses are getting several new color and lens combinations including Prizm and Transitions variants.

The bigger story is what these glasses can now do with AI. Users can log meals hands-free using voice or a quick photo, with Meta AI capturing nutrition details and adding them to a food log over time. WhatsApp summaries and recall are joining the Early Access Program, letting users ask Meta to catch them up on group chats or find specific details from past conversations. Meta says those interactions are processed on-device with end-to-end encryption.

Neural Handwriting on Meta Ray-Ban Display is also rolling out to everyone in the coming weeks. It lets users write with a finger on any surface to reply to messages silently. It works across Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and native messaging apps on both Android and iOS.
