The update brings AI message drafting, photo editing and better storage tools
WhatsApp is rolling out a new update that introduces AI generated replies along with several new features across the app. The Meta owned platform says the update is designed to make messaging easier and more flexible for users.
The biggest change is an update to its Writing Help feature. Users can now get AI powered reply suggestions based on their conversations. The feature can help draft messages, adjust tone and improve wording directly inside chats. Meta says messages remain private even when using this tool.
The update also adds new tools beyond messaging.
Users can now free up storage by deleting large files directly from chats without removing the full conversation. WhatsApp is also adding AI powered photo editing, allowing users to remove objects, change backgrounds or apply styles within the app.
There are more updates across the platform. WhatsApp now supports chat transfer between iOS and Android, and users on iOS can finally use two accounts on one device. The app will also suggest stickers based on emojis while typing.
The features are rolling out now and will be available to users globally in stages.
